Only a week away from spring break, everything seems to be moving 10 times faster than usual and I can't seem to keep up. It's still hard to believe that in a couple of months i'll be walking across the field to receive my diploma. It's even harder to believe ill be leaving the small town where I grew up. It's a bittersweet feeling leaving and moving on to bigger things but at the same time leaving friends and family behind.
I've recently gotten acceptance letters from CSU Chico and UC Merced which makes everything feel so surreal. The pressure on choosing which school I will attend during fall finally hit me so i'm making sure to take every little detail into consideration since they all offer the major I am interested in. My top two schools are CSU Fresno and CSU Chico because they offer both nursing and health science which I have just recently realized I was interested in and I noticed it after my job shadow. When I researched the different careers I was interested in I got stuck between peds and internal medicine which deals with adults. So I decided to job shadow someone who helped both adults and children. I shadowed a family practice physician assistant which is someone who works under a group of doctors but is also able to diagnose patients and prescribe medicine. The purpose of it was to get a feel of what it was like to work in both careers but after seeing the variety in patients I realized I couldn’t choose between the two specialties and decided the career that was for me was a physician assistant.
I’m looking forward to spending grad night with all of my friends and for all the memories that await. I'm so grateful for all my friends as well as all the advisors who have helped throughout these four years. I would not have been able to get through all the rough patches without them. I am glad that I have such amazing friends and that I have so many memories to look back on now, memories that
I will cherish for the rest of my life.
